Five laser heat treatment process

Laser thermal treatment is a method of strengthening the metal surface using high -power laser beams. It can be hardened (or surface quenching, surface non -crystallization, surface removal quenching), surface alloyization and other surface changes to metals. Sexual treatment to achieve good mechanical properties that cannot be achieved by traditional surface quenching. The metal surface hardness treated with laser treatment can reach more than 60HRC for cast iron, and medium and high -carbon steel can reach 70HRC. Compared with other thermal treatment technology such as high -frequency quenching, carburizing, and nitrogen seepage, laser heat treatment technology has the following characteristics:

1) No need to use external materials, only change the tissue structure of the surface of the processing material. The processing layer after processing has sufficient thickness, and can be adjusted according to the need (generally 0.1 to 0.8mm).

2) High intensity of the combination of the processing layer and the matrix. The modified layer of the laser surface treatment is a dense metallurgical combination between the substrate material. The surface surface is dense metallurgical tissue, which has high hardness and abrasion resistance.

3) The deformation of the processing workpiece is extremely small. Due to the high laser power density, the action time with the parts is very short (10-7 ~ 10-3s), and the thermal deformation zone and the overall change of the parts are very small, so it is particularly suitable for the treatment of high-precision parts.

4) Good processing flexible and wide applicable. Using a flexible light guide system can guide the laser to any treatment site at will, so that it can easily achieve local treatment of deep holes, inner holes, blind holes, and grooves.

Laser thermal treatment has been widely used in the automotive industry, such as thermal treatment of engine cylinders, crankshaft necks, gears and gear shafts.
