1. ignition switch

(1) The principle of ignition switch work

Among all switches, the ignition switch is the most complicated. It controls the charging system, ignition system, starting system, and most of the auxiliary electrical appliances. The ignition switch (see Figure 9-6) is a composite switch. Generally, the key needs to be operated.

Figure 9-7 shows the structural principle diagram of the ignition switch. The three brushes are combined together and rotated at the same time. When the ignition key is screwed to the starting gear, all brushes are turned to the "ST" position. At this time, the brush B will transport the voltage of the battery to the ignition coil 5, and the brush C will be C. The voltage of the battery is transported to the starting system and the ignition controller 3, and the brush A has no output.

When the engine starts, the brush is turned to the "ON" position. At this time, the output of the brush M, B, and C is shown in Figure 9-7. The cross -connection between the terminal A and O of the brush C indicates that the attachment it is connected in the ignition switch's brush is in the "ON" and "A" position, and it can be started.

(2) Other functions of the ignition switch

As shown in Figure 9-8, the lock body of the ignition switch of many models has the function of locking the steering wheel (LOCK location of the ignition switch in the figure). When the ignition switch rotates to the lock and pulls out the key, the steering wheel is locked. The positions of these ignition switches are usually arranged according to LOCK (steering wheel lock transmission), ACC (spare gear), ON (ignition transmission), and start (starting gear).

Some models also have the function of preventing errors (such as Volkswagen cars): The ignition switch can only be screwed from the OFF gear to the starting ST gear. When the engine or engine is turned off, if the engine is turned off, if the engine is required, it must be re -started. Wire the ignition switch back to the OFF transmission, and then, then from the OFF transmission on gear ST transmission.

(3) ignition switch with anti -theft function

At present, the keys of most cars ignite the switch have an electronic key with anti -theft function. Figure 9-9 shows an electronic key anti-theft system. The principle is: a chip on the ignition key. The chip used for each key has a specific resistance value, between 380 and 12300 . In addition to the lighting key, as the lock body must be matched like ordinary keys, its chip resistance value is also matched with the starting motor circuit.
