4.2.4 Zoning design of component materials

The continuous rise in global energy prices has led to a continuous increase in raw material prices. In this situation, according to the different usage areas of dry and wet areas, it is particularly important to fully consider the various performance of the parts, use the most economical raw materials to improve the cost-effectiveness of the parts, and avoid excessive functionality of the parts.

1) The commonly used materials for connectors have been verified under practical application conditions, and their performance is shown in Table 5.

2) The commonly used materials for wire insulation layer have their long-term high-temperature resistance performance as shown in Table 6. The temperature resistance level of insulation layers made of different materials varies, and the prices and processing techniques of their raw materials also vary.

3) The commonly used materials for external auxiliary components and their long-term high-temperature resistance performance are shown in Table 7. The commonly used components in the above wire harness products can be designed according to different usage areas, reducing raw material costs.

4.2.5 Platform based design of components

Platformization of components, that is, improving the continuity and universality of components, can effectively reduce the development cost and mold cost of components, thereby reducing the price of components, such as Volkswagen's PQ34, PQ35, and MQB platforms, FAW's H platform, Great Wall Motors' K platform, Brilliance Jinbei's H2W platform, etc. Many main engine manufacturers, when developing new car models, in addition to the necessary body, lighting, and other specialized parts that need to be redesigned, other electrical components in the early stages of design are mostly borrowed from the already mature components used in existing mass production models, that is, flatbed use. 3) Except for special electrical functional components, the specifications, thickness, coating, and locking mechanism of the integrated terminals are used in conjunction with the sheath. The recommended matching relationship between the terminals and the wires is shown in Table 10. The current carrying capacity of various specifications of terminals depends on the cross-sectional area of the crimped wire, the material of the terminal, and the coating.
