7.2.1 Inlet air temperature sensor

Basic knowledge

1. The role of intake temperature sensor

The air intake temperature can affect the engine fuel injection. When the air intake temperature is low, the resistance value of thermal resistance is large, the signal voltage of the sensor inputs ECU is high, and the ECU controls the engine to increase the fuel injection. The voltage is low, and the ECU controls the engine to reduce the fuel injection. The intake temperature sensor can detect the air intake temperature of the engine, and transform the air intake temperature into a voltage signal into the ECU as the signal of fuel injection correction.

2. Structure and connection circuit

The intake temperature sensor is a negative temperature coefficient thermistor, which generates different signal voltage according to the resistance change. The air intake temperature sensor is installed on the intake pipe or in the air flow meter. The specific installation location is shown in Figure 7.4.
